One of the first things we made at Lil Chef's Clubhouse was our Melty Snowman ~ the kids had a lot of fun decorating their snowman. Here is the recipe hope you enjoy baking and decorating with your child
1 Cup sugar
1 Cup softened butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon orange extract
2 1/3 Cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Heat oven to 375 ` Line cookie sheet with parchment paper, set aside
Beat sugar and butter with mixer on low speed, until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla, almond extract, orange extract, nutmeg and egg. Stir in flour and baking soda.. Take a teaspoonful of batter and form into a ball, place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart. flatten with bottom of a glass dipped into sugar..
Bake for 9 t0 11 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet and place on Wie rack.
1 Cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon milk or orange juice
In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar, vanilla and liquid. Stir in additional liquid if needed a teaspoon of a time. Until it reaches a drizzle consistency.
Assembl your Snowman:: This is the fun part. Let you child use their imagination! There is no right or wrong waY to assemble your snowman.
Take the frosting and spread on top of your cookie.
Microwave a marshmallow (large) for about 10-15 seconds ` place on top of your frosting
Then add mini chocolate chips for eyes, a orange mini m & m for the nose, pretzel sticks for arms and couple of mini m & m's for buttons. Just remember to have FUN!
